I am a final-year PhD student in computer science at Stanford University. I work on data-driven decision making for social impact. My research develops statistical methodology to address challenges in public health and economic development, combining tools from machine learning, causal inference, and optimization.

I will be presenting at the MIT CODE Conference about data fusion for public health surveillance in Session H: Education and Health (DR 3, 6th Floor) on Friday November 14 at 3:20pm. I hope to see you there!

I am fortunate to be advised by Stefan Wager. I am supported by a Stanford DARE Fellowship, Stanford Data Science Fellowship, and NSF GRFP. Previously, I studied computer science and math at MIT, where I was lucky to learn from Igor Gilitschenski, Daniela Rus, and John Guttag in my first research experiences.

Outside of research, I love to practice yoga, run, swim, and read.

Happy to chat about building inclusive research communities, mentorship, grad school etc. You can email me at rsahoo [at] stanford [dot] edu.
